Growing up in Africa, Gerhard learnt from a young age that entrepreneurship is not some ‘cool’ life choice. Starting a business is for many people the only choice they have. These entrepreneurs naturally ‘spot’ opportunities in their environment and don’t spend much time building businesses that won’t make money, because if they did — they would not eat. They rely on their ability to rapidly learn, adapt and serve the needs of their communities well. With this life lesson ingrained in his DNA he spent the last 18 years of his career at the intersection of building startups, Early Stage investing and corporate innovation.
Gerhard leads Innovation Strategy at Triniti. He is a serial Founder himself with the proven ability to identify, incubate and build new technology based companies, platforms and products. He has also worked in Management Consulting and Venture Capital across Europe, Africa and Asia. As an Angel Investor he serves as a mentor for global organisations such as The Founders Institute, Global Startup Studio Network and Sparklabs .
